Hike & Cycle in the United Kingdom

Hiking and cycling in England, Scotland & Wales

The British have always been a bit peculiar from the rest of the world's way of seeing things, even though they like to claim that it's quite the opposite. Magnificent gardens, crooked houses, woolly sheep, lukewarm scones (and lukewarm beer, claim the doubters) – much is not like home and yet so homely. In Britain we hike and cycle across magnificent moors, white coastal cliffs and through real Sherwood forests. And after the hike or bike ride, do you choose an afternoon tea or a pint at the pub?

Tip: Britain is not just a summer destination. April is the driest month and with beautiful blooming.

England

England offers classic hiking trips and cycling tours with rolling countryside and dramatic coastal paths. From the hills of Cotswolds and Yorkshire via Lake District's mountains to Cornwall's captivating coastal path, hiking and cycling await in varied nature, always with an inviting pub and charming accommodation after the tour. Here we also include the captivating Channel Islands Jersey, Guernsey and Sark, even though they are formally crown dependencies.

Scotland

In Scotland, nature plays the leading role, with spacious highlands, dramatic islands and deep lakes that harbor legends. Hike or cycle the West Highland Way, Great Glen Way, on Skye or in Speyside. The culture is as soulful as nature, and both the whisky and hospitality warm you in the fresh air. Who cares then that Scottish is a bit hard to understand sometimes?

Wales

Wales offers hiking trips in a compact but dramatic environment. Pembrokeshire's coastal trails are similar to Cornwall's but more undiscovered. Snowdonia instead provides a mighty mountain environment. An active trip here means green valleys, barren peaks and genuine British nature. Don't try to read the signs in Welsh though!
