Hiking Speyside Whisky Trail

Visit the world-famous whisky distilleries in Speyside while walking along the salmon-filled River Spey. You pass through peaceful forests and beautiful heather-clad glens while being able to taste the different 'malts and blends' produced by Glenlivet and Glenfiddich.

You walk along smugglers' paths in the shadow of the Cairngorm mountain where you are also surrounded by rich nature and wildlife. In the Speyside region there are nearly half of the 100 or more malt whisky distilleries that exist in Scotland.

This walking trip is designed to combine the best of both walking and whisky. Each day's walk gives you the opportunity to visit distilleries and experience the production and products that have made this drink world-famous.

You start in Craigellachie in the heart of malt whisky country and make your way via 62 km of walking to Tomintoul where the walk ends. With 4 walking days and 5 nights you can visit at least 6 different distilleries without having to drive a single meter!
