Follow the River Spey past the Aberlour and Cardhu distilleries on the way to the small village of Ballindalloch. The walk goes through peaceful woodland with hidden waterfalls along a now disused railway track.

Ballandilloch houses the beautiful castle of the same name and the famous Cragganmore distillery. When you leave the village, The Speyside Whisky Trail takes you out to a wilder and more barren landscape with heather-clad moorland. At the peaks Cairncay and Deskie, the path descends towards Glenlivet distillery and surroundings. Transfer back to Ballindalloch.

Transfer from the hotel to Glenlivet. You follow in the footsteps of the 18th century secretive whisky smugglers as the trail takes you upward with views towards Cairngorm mountain. In Tomintoul, the famous Whisky Castle Shop has sold whisky for over 100 years. A good place to purchase drinks for the journey home.
