This tour follows most of the 153 km long national long-distance trail of the same name, which runs through the southwestern part of the Scottish Highlands. Starting in the village of Milngavie just outside Glasgow, you hike to Loch Lomond, along paths through the mountains around Crianlarich, and across the Rannoch Moor wilderness area. You pass near Glencoe and finish at Fort William near the foot of Ben Nevis (Britain's highest peak, which you can climb if you are experienced and choose to spend an extra day here). The West Highland Way is a well-established and popular route that contains fantastic and majestic landscapes.
