Rental bikes on our cycling trips
On our cycling trips, you can choose to rent different types of bicycles. They are always robust and of high quality, to handle many cycling trips during a season. Since we cover a variety of destinations, brands and models vary, but bicycle types and equipment are similar regardless of trip. Read more about our bicycles and how they are equipped below.
What bike types can I choose on the cycling trip?
Touring bike
A friendly bike type with upright seating position and sometimes low step-through for everyone (unisex). Often has 7 gears, hand brakes front/back and sometimes also foot brake. Suitable for relaxed cycling on asphalt "with the baguette in the bike basket".
Hybrid / Trekking bike
The most common and optimal bike type for most people. It combines the comfort of the touring bike with a somewhat more active seating position that works for longer days. It has straight handlebars, comfortable saddle, good adjustment options, 21-27 gears and hand brakes front and back (more efficient than foot brakes, which are uncommon abroad). It handles both asphalt and light gravel. If low step-through is important to you, please mention this when booking the trip.
E-bike
The magic of modern e-bikes is that they can both lower the difficulty level of the trip and even out differences between travel companions. The base is often touring or trekking/hybrid. The motor only drives when you pedal and provides as much assistance as you choose yourself. The battery lasts all day if you don't ride with maximum assistance, and you can charge your bike at all accommodations. Charger is naturally included.
Road bike
The enthusiast choice is a light and fast bike with drop handlebars and high-class components. They are available with both aluminum frame and carbon fiber frame. In some cases, e-bikes of road bike model are offered.
Gravel bike
This sporty adventure bike resembles the road bike (drop handlebars and sporty geometry) but has thicker tires and sometimes some front suspension, to also handle gravel and rougher asphalt with fine comfort. In some cases, e-bikes of gravel model are offered.
Children's bike or bike trailer
If you want to raise the next generation to the joys of cycling trips, we can often offer children's bikes or bike trailers. Ask us about your specific destination!
Bring your own bike
Hopefully your steed is a bit sharper than the one in the picture, but you can always bring your own bike as special baggage on flights or trains. Please specify this when booking.
More about our bikes
Exactly how your bicycle is equipped is specified in the trip information, and if you want to know more, just ask us. In general, our bicycles are equipped with:
- Side bag of approximately 20 liters, where you can fit what you need for the day, such as extra clothing, picnic and some small items. We transport the rest of your luggage by car when you change hotels.
- Phone holder or a small handlebar bag.
- Lock, which should be used every time you leave the bicycle.
- Repair kit with tools for adjustments and punctures. For major breakdowns, contact the service number.
- Mudguards, in the case of touring bicycle and hybrid/trekking bicycle.
- Charger, in the case of electric bicycle.
- Helmet is sometimes included, sometimes not. We recommend that you bring your own helmet, for safety and comfort reasons.
