Yes, I've lived in Italy for a long time, even though I've worked for Swedish travel companies my whole career.

As a child in Provence I tested both gravity and my mother's patience: I preferred climbing the limestone cliffs of the Calanques to studying my schoolbooks. Hiking became my first love, mushroom hunting my first paycheck, and cycling stole my heart just in time for my thirties crisis. Nowadays I make sure our systems never get lost.

Ulf flutters around like a hummingbird among Intoit's various tour operators and thinks it's an absolute blast (as soon as he lands long enough to write his own bio, we'll publish it here). Equally enthusiastic and determined whether it's building great travel companies, swimming along the Cinque Terre, or cycling from Gothenburg to Nerja. Yes, he has actually done both of these feats.
The History of Epic Trails
- 2006: The business was founded and was then located in Höllviken in the southernmost part of Skåne.
- 2010: The current company was formed as TRAVL Sweden AB.
- 2017: We had grown and were taken over by UCPA Resor with offices in Vasastan in Gothenburg.
- 2025: Intoit Travel Group became the main owner and we changed our name to Epic Trails. Base camp remains in Gothenburg.
Our philosophy is that pleasant exercise in magnificent nature isn't just for outdoor enthusiasts. Traveling at a pace where all senses can keep up simply gives a better travel experience. After a bit of hiking and cycling, the food tastes even better and the bed feels even more comfortable. Health and sustainability come as a bonus!
TRAVL Sweden AB, with the special company name Epic Trails, is a Swedish-owned company with organization number 556807-4362. We are part of the privately owned and specialist-driven travel group Intoit Travel Group (ITG) headquartered in Gothenburg. We are members of the Swedish Travel Industry Association (SRF) and follow its travel terms. Our package trips include statutory travel guarantee through Kammarkollegiet or the European equivalent. Through ITG, we are members of the airlines' organization IATA (IATA number 80 2 4319-2), which gives us the right to issue flight tickets.
