Charming hotels, farms & inns
Accommodation is part of the travel experience
Hand-picked accommodations
After a day of hiking or cycling, it's wonderful to be greeted by a smile, a cozy environment and crisp sheets. We choose smaller and family-run accommodations where charm and comfort are more important than the number of stars. Often we have several alternatives in each location and the earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting our first choice - but all have the same standard. You will therefore receive a personal hotel list before departure.
Treat yourself to an upgrade
On many trips you can choose accommodation standard when you book. The most common is then a choice between affordable mid-class hotels and inns or more luxurious hotels and boutique accommodations where the experience continues after the day's activity.
Classification
Our assessment is based on the official star classification but adjusted according to soft values such as location, comfort, food and local character.
Exquisite luxury class hotels of the highest level in everything. Officially five-star and extra fine four-star. Spoil yourself with something beyond the ordinary - you've earned it after a day's activity.
Some examples from our trips

Hotel La Garrigue ***
Cycling in Burgundy & Provence
Only two official stars but with exceptionally good reviews. This place in the Provençal heights is a great example of when soft values win. Here Sophie and Jérôme have combined modern comfort with that rural charm we gladly seek in France's most sensual landscape. The location is beautiful, the service personal and it's the details that make it: a fresh pool, a boule court (of course) and a tree-shaded patio where cozy lighting is lit when the sun sets over the hills and you swirl your wine glass.

Opus One ****
Hiking with the best of Algarve
Even when you stay in cities you can get really cozy, especially if you choose to upgrade to a Charm accommodation. Opus One is an elegant oasis in the heart of Faro and a real boutique hotel. Here awaits a small but thoughtful collection of rooms and suites where none is like the other. The morning begins with a good breakfast where seasonally fresh ingredients are served with care and after the hike you can take a dip in the pool before exploring Faro's historic center.

Rifugio Elena *
Tour du Mont Blanc
Just before the ascent to Col de Ferret lies this classic alpine hut with views over the Pré de Bar glacier. Surrounded by impressive mountains but not higher than the sun warming nicely on the terrace. The Italophile appreciates that it's located on the Italian side of the border, because then you can get good coffee and Valdostan dishes even up on the mountain. A mountain hut is far from luxurious but so welcome after a long hiking day. Warm hospitality, cold beer and a buzzing energy from all the hikers.

Tenuta Donn'Anna*****
Food and wine cycling in Puglia
On this trip it never gets worse than four real stars - and yet you can indulge with five. This farm has gotten its name from the family's la mamma, who also gives cooking courses in the beautiful environment. Fine rooms and bungalows, a soft lawn that invites to siesta and the most elegant glamping tent on this side of a luxury safari. Guaranteed relaxation while wild boars sniff for acorns, crickets sing and the pool glitters in the sun.
