The Cumbria Way is a 115 km long hiking trail that runs through England's beautiful Lake District. This classic walk starts in the charming town of Ulverston and ends in historic Carlisle. In between, it showcases the Lake District's naturally wild beauty. Walk in the footsteps of the famous poets - Wordsworth, Coleridge and Southey - and discover what inspired them to write some of England's most well-known verses.
The distances covered each day vary but at least during the first 5 or 6 days there is plenty of time to pause and admire the unsurpassed landscape. The route is very much a classic even though it largely avoids mountain areas where navigation would become a problem in bad weather.
The trip can be completed in 10 days / 9 nights or 8 days / 7 nights, you stay at hotels or equivalent guesthouses with 3 *** standard and breakfast is included every day.
