Mount Everest Base Camp is the place where adventures both begin and end. Mountaineers and sherpas wait for the climb or rest after success or failure. The place is steeped in myths and legends, dreams and tragedies. For the hiker, the camp is a pilgrimage destination and the culmination of one of life's greatest hiking experiences.
The journey begins in colorful Kathmandu while the trek starts in Lukla, already at 2800 masl. Then follow many long days as we go ever deeper into the Himalayas on ancient trade routes now traveled by mountain people from all over the world. We stay in tea houses and encounter the warmth, strength and spirituality of the Sherpa people, something that gives the trip a human dimension that matches the epic landscape well. Finally, we stand at our destination and can experience the sunrise from Kala Patthar as Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse are colored in the morning light. Here we stand between heaven and earth.

You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where you are met by a representative from our team and driven to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax, recover from the journey and prepare for the trek. Later in the evening we gather for an informal welcome dinner.
This is a physically demanding high-altitude trek. The day stages are long and the terrain varies between trails, rocky sections and glacier-adjacent landscapes. Acclimatization is an important part of the program, and due to the altitude, the trek can feel 50% tougher than the length and elevation gain suggest. Suitable for those with good fitness and experience hiking several days in a row. Read more about the trip's requirements below.
You stay at hotels in Kathmandu and in traditional teahouses along the trek. The standard is simple but functional, with common areas and a genuine atmosphere. The location and experience are what make the accommodation special.
