Mount Everest Base Camp is the place where adventures both begin and end. Mountaineers and sherpas wait for the ascent or rest after success or defeat. The place is steeped in myths and legends, dreams and tragedies. For the hiker, the camp represents a pilgrimage site and the culmination of one of life's greatest trekking experiences.
The journey begins in colorful Kathmandu while the trek starts in Lukla, already at 2800 meters above sea level. Then follow many long days as we go deeper into the Himalayas on old trade routes now traveled by mountain people from around the world. We stay in tea houses and meet the warmth, strength and spirituality of the Sherpa people, something that gives the journey a human dimension that well matches the epic landscape. Finally we stand at the goal and can experience the sunrise from Kala Patthar when Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse are colored in the morning light. Here we stand between heaven and earth.

You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where you are met by a representative from our team and driven to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax, recover from the journey and prepare for the trek. Later in the evening we gather for an informal welcome dinner.
This is a physically demanding trek at high altitude. Daily stages are long and terrain varies between trails, rocky sections and glacial landscapes. Acclimatization is an important part of the program and due to altitude the trek can feel 50% tougher than length and elevation suggest. Suitable for you with good fitness and experience of hiking several days in a row. Read more about the trip's conditions below.
You stay at hotels in Kathmandu and in traditional tea houses along the trek. The standard is simple but functional, with common areas and a genuine atmosphere. The location and experience is what makes the accommodation special.
