Mardi Himal Trek is a perfect introduction to Nepal's mountain world. You hike through ancient rhododendron forests and up towards dramatic high alpine landscapes where the mountains feel truly close. Along the way you get magnificent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Annapurna I and Mardi Himal.
The route lies just east of the more famous Annapurna Base Camp trail and is something of a hidden gem. Instead of following a valley, the trail mainly goes along a ridge which guarantees extensive views. You stay at authentic tea houses, meet people in traditional villages and the hiking is easier than both Everest and Annapurna Base Camp. From High Camp awaits an early morning hike to a viewpoint where you get to experience a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas.
The trip ends with an exciting safari in tropical Chitwan and is framed by stimulating days in Kathmandu.

Dinner
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu where you are met by a representative and get transfer to the hotel. After check-in there is time to land and relax before an informal welcome dinner is served.
Level and accommodation
Easy to moderate trekking. The hike goes through varied terrain from forest paths to high alpine environment. Daily stages are relatively short but the altitude increase makes the tour 30-50% more physically demanding than length and incline suggest. Maximum altitude 4,200 meters. Suitable for you with good basic fitness.
Accommodation
You stay at hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara as well as tea houses during hiking. The standard is simple but charming with focus on closeness to nature. In Chitwan you stay at a lodge with full board.
