Emilia-Romagna is Italy's pantry. Here some of the country's most beloved specialties are born – Parmesan cheese, Parma ham, fresh pasta and authentic balsamic vinegar from Modena. During a week you cycle through a rolling Italian landscape adorned with vineyards, small villages and historic cities. The area is called both Food Valley and Motor Valley (thanks to Ferrari among others) and represents so much of Italy's finest. The journey begins in Vignola and continues via Modena and Reggio Emilia to the gastronomic capital Parma. Along the way, visits to proud producers, medieval city centers and views over the fertile landscape await. With e-bike, the tours become enjoyable even when the road slopes upward and you get plenty of time to stop for an espresso, a cheese tasting or a glass of local wine.

Welcome to Vignola, a charming little town in Emilia-Romagna known for its sweet cherries and the impressive medieval castle Rocca di Vignola. The castle, which rises above the Panaro River, is one of the region's best-preserved fortresses. The historic town center offers cozy alleys, elegant arcades, and lively cafés where you can sit down and enjoy Italian everyday life. Outside the town, cherry orchards, vineyards, and gently rolling hills spread out – a perfect introduction to the landscape you'll be cycling through during the week. Feel free to take an evening stroll and recharge for tomorrow's first stage.
The cycling is mainly on paved small roads with limited traffic and shorter sections on hard-packed gravel roads. Daily stages are around 40–45 km with moderate elevation differences. The trip suits most everyday cyclists with normal fitness, especially with e-bike. For those who want a bit more challenge, there are some longer alternatives during the week.
You stay at family-run three-star hotels or equivalent agriturismo (farm) with private bathroom, air conditioning and breakfast. The accommodations are personal and vary in style, but consistently maintain a good middle-class level with comfortable standard and warm Italian hospitality.
