The trip starts in Parma, a gastronomic paradise home to both Parma ham and Parmesan cheese, and leads you through medieval small villages and archaeological sites on the way over the Cisa pass, the gateway to the Tuscan part of Via Francigena.
You then continue into Lunigiana - a lesser known but all the more beautiful part of Tuscany. The cycling takes you further to the famous cities of Lucca and San Gimignano, the Manhattan of the Middle Ages, before you embark on one of the most beautiful stretches along Via Francigena to finally reach Siena which seems to live on from the 14th century.
Medieval atmosphere in cities like Pontremoli and Monteriggioni as well as breathtaking views with mountain villages, open valleys, cypress trees and olive groves are additional highlights on this cycling trip.
