Cilento is one of the world's "blue zones", where people live longer than elsewhere. Is the fountain of youth food with fresh ingredients, strong family ties and a slower pace? Discover for yourself on this trip that goes to the Campania region and the Cilento National Park with the ancient temple site of Paestum just south of Salerno. The national park is the region's most genuine and unspoiled area and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a unique landscape that stretches from the coast into the interior.
The tour takes you from the coast and Paestum into the heart of the national park and to the impressive Alburni massif. The landscape is fairly untouched and tourists are few. You get to experience fantastic nature, wonderful views and a cultural landscape with olive groves, vineyards and farms making mozzarella. The local population is genuinely welcoming and receives you with great warmth. You finally arrive at the small town of San Marco di Castellabate, where you have the opportunity to discover the various sights of the Punta Licosa peninsula, including the elevated medieval town center with its impressive castle, from which the view is magnificent.

Dinner
After arriving at Capaccio train station, you pick up your bicycle and take the short distance to the hotel past the ancient Greek temple area of Paestum. Your luggage is taken care of and delivered to the hotel. Depending on arrival time, you choose to already now take a short look at the excavations to do a more thorough sightseeing tomorrow, or you choose to cycle down to the beach for a quick dip before heading to the hotel, which is located right next to the temple.

Level and standard
The rides are of medium difficulty with a few challenging sections. Cycling experience and reasonable fitness are required to enjoy them. The daily stages mostly run on smaller, paved roads. Little shade means it can get hot, especially in midsummer. The Felitto - Ceraso stage can feel tougher.
Characterful accommodation at selected hotels and farms, mostly 3*** standard, with warm hospitality and local charm. Breakfast is included every day. Dinner is included on some evenings, giving you the chance to taste the region's cuisine and really relax after cycling.
