Welcome to a culture-packed cycling adventure through some of Southern Italy's most characteristic areas. Starting in UNESCO-listed cave city Matera, one of the world's oldest cities, you soon roll across the border from Basilicata to Puglia and Valle d'Itria. Via Alberobello's famous trulli houses, picturesque Polignano al Mare, vineyards and paradisiacal sandy beaches, you finally reach Salento and the baroque pearl Lecce - the Florence of the South.
You cycle at a leisurely pace on smaller roads and through historic small towns, with plenty of time for swimming, local flavors and cultural stops. Luggage is transported between accommodations and the route follows carefully selected stretches that provide maximum experience rather than performance. The trip suits you who want to combine cycling with culture, food, wine, sea and breathtaking history.
