The Dolomites' vertical peaks, mirror-like alpine lakes and flowering meadows form the backdrop for this stunningly beautiful cycling trip through South Tyrol. Here awaits one of Europe's best networks of cycle paths, where you roll from Cortina d'Ampezzo (which has hosted the Winter Olympics twice) and through the Puster Valley with its traditional alpine villages. The cycle paths are well-maintained, properly signposted and predominantly car-free. It's also easy cycling, despite the dramatic surrounding mountains.
South Tyrol, and especially the core area of the Dolomites, is a fascinating blend of Italian and Austrian. The mountains carry mysterious legends from the Celtic peoples who lived here and whose language still echoes in the Ladin dialect. Equally exciting is the cuisine, a delightful fusion of hearty alpine fare and Italian finesse, paired with the region's delicious wines. A cycling week you won't want to forget!

Upon arrival in Cortina d'Ampezzo, you check in at our family-run hotel. Stroll around the town where alpine charm meets fashionable elegance and the echo of no less than two Winter Olympics (1956 and 2026). Here you'll find shops worthy of Milan or Paris and restaurants where you can try local specialties, all surrounded by majestic Dolomite mountains on all sides. Cortina is a fascinating blend of history, style and mountain atmosphere.
The great thing about the Dolomites' cycle paths is that they follow valleys and low passes, so you can enjoy real mountain views without big hills. The cycling is easy to moderate and mostly on dedicated cycle paths of excellent quality, sometimes on packed gravel roads. Daily stages are approximately 30–45 km with relatively small climbs and many downhill sections, especially at the beginning. The cycling follows rivers and converted railway tracks, making the journey accessible even for recreational cyclists with normal fitness.
You stay at selected hotels of 3–4-star standard in larger towns like Cortina, Dobbiaco, Brunico and Bressanone. In smaller villages we use charming guesthouses or agriturismo with a personal atmosphere. All rooms have private bathrooms and every morning a good Italian breakfast is served. Along the route there are plenty of restaurants where you can try South Tyrolean specialties and regional wines.
