This beautiful trip gives you stunning mountain landscapes, green meadows and rolling rivers. From the Austrian border through Italian South Tyrol, you will cycle along quiet country roads, past peaceful villages and picturesque small castles and monasteries, until you reach the scenic Lake Garda, beloved by artists and poets.
The area you cycle through is known for its apple production, and you will cycle past fruit orchards and large apple plantations. In Lana there is even an apple museum you can visit to learn more. The journey begins in bilingual South Tyrol, where German and Italian culture and history meet.
You cycle past several villages and towns with similar history, to finally reach Italy's largest lake, Lake Garda, which lies between Venice and Milan, not far from Verona.

You make your own way to Bolzano, where the journey begins. Bolzano, or Bozen as the city is called in German, is a center for both tourism and trade. The city is bilingual and has long formed the border between the Mediterranean region and Central Europe. Here both Italian and German history and culture meet. While you prepare for tomorrow's adventure, you can take the opportunity to explore the old town center.

The route is mostly flat with some shorter uphill sections, and the entire trail follows paved cycle paths or quiet minor roads.
