Wine Cycling in Provence

Discover Provence on two wheels – far from the crowds and in the midst of a landscape of vineyards, olive groves, pine trees and historic villages. This cycling trip takes you from Avignon's papal cultural heritage, via L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Venasque's hills, onwards to the foot of Mont Ventoux and the world-famous wine villages Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise and Gigondas.

The trip offers two lovely days with optional loop tours where you choose whether you want to cycle or treat yourself to a quiet day with sightseeing and local delicacies. You finish in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the epitome of the Rhône Valley's wine tradition, before rolling back towards Avignon through Tavel – the capital of rosé wine. This is Provence at its best: the scent of thyme and rosemary along the roads, the warmth from pine needles in the afternoon sun, and the flavors of local wine, goat cheese and olive oil that make every day a pleasure.
