France's perhaps finest cycling region is called Alsace, with several so-called Véloroutes. It is also one of the country's most charming areas, whose emblem consists of half-timbered houses, glittering canals and of course beautifully rolling vineyards. On this trip you get to experience both the postcard parts and some lesser-known corners. The journey goes through culturally historic towns like Strasbourg and Colmar and small wine villages where you are met by the friendliness of the inhabitants, traditions and of course delicious wines made from Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Riesling.

Arrival on your own to Strasbourg. Feel free to visit the city's beautiful historic center after check-in. The city is not only beautiful but also has an interesting history as a border town. Stroll along the cobblestone streets and admire the picturesque half-timbered houses and charming small squares.

Level and Standard
Mostly easy and flat cycling on bike paths and minor roads, with plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Several days offer a choice between shorter and longer distances, and one stage is hillier for those who want more of a challenge, otherwise there are gentler alternatives.
You can choose between Standard (2**-3***) and Comfort (3***-4****), both at hotels or equivalent Chambres d'hôtes. Breakfast is included every morning. Other meals are not included, but the range of restaurants and other options along the way and in the evening towns makes it easy to find your favorites.
