Roll along the Rhine during the day and let your floating hotel follow along between the cities. This easy cycling and boat trip runs between Strasbourg and Mainz, with departures in both directions. You cycle through river landscapes, nature reserves and wine regions and visit historic cities such as Speyer, Mannheim and Worms. One of the trip's highlights is the excursion along the Neckar to romantic Heidelberg. The cycling is mostly easy and flat, and after the day's stage the boat awaits at the quay with a delicious three-course dinner, sun deck and the same comfortable cabin all week. A thoroughly pleasant way to experience two countries and two thousand years of European history.

Welcome to Mainz, where your cycling adventure along the Rhine begins! From 4:00 pm you can board the MS Switzerland and settle into your cabin. If you arrive early, there's time to discover Mainz's charming old town with its half-timbered houses and the mighty Romanesque cathedral. You might also have time for a glass of local Riesling before it's time for the trip's first dinner on board.
Level and accommodation
An easy cycling trip mainly on asphalted or paved cycle paths along the Rhine and Neckar. The terrain is very flat without any notable climbs. The regular cycling days average around 28 km, with 52 km as the longest stage. Suitable for you with basic fitness who wants to cycle at a relaxed pace.
MS Switzerland is a comfortable river cruiser with a classic and cozy style, especially suited for cycling trips. On board there is a restaurant, a spacious panorama lounge with a bar and a large sun deck with seating. All 56 cabins are outside cabins, are approximately 11 m² and have their own bathroom, air conditioning, TV, hairdryer and safe. On the main deck there are panoramic windows where the upper part can be opened. The Eco cabins are located where noise from the engine and generator may occur during navigation and in locks. On the upper deck there is a French balcony and openable floor-to-ceiling windows. The mini suites on both decks also have a small seating area.
