Tour du Mont Blanc

This hike suits you who are used to trekking and want to challenge yourself in spectacular alpine terrain. You hike on well-marked trails through varied landscapes with some days that are more demanding and others that offer alternative, easier routes. The southern part is a bit rougher and tougher than the northern part. Length and elevation per day are specified in the program; on average you walk 6 hours, 16 km and 880 meters of elevation per day. Early in the season, until the beginning of July, some sections may be somewhat more challenging as snow may still occur.

You can choose between three accommodation standards:

• Dormitory: Multi-bed rooms with up to 15 beds, half board included. Shower and toilet in the corridor.
• Mini dormitory: Smaller rooms with 2–4 beds, half board included. Shower and WC usually in the corridor. Note that this is not hotel standard, but simpler mini-dormitories in mountain huts. As a couple, you may need to share a room with other guests.
• Comfort: Double room with shower, half board included. Availability is very limited and cannot be guaranteed every night. Single rooms are not available.

The nights in Chamonix include only breakfast and the night in Les Contamines is always spent in a dormitory with 8 beds.

The dinners give you the opportunity to taste local specialties. They are served around 7:30 PM and usually follow a fixed daily menu without other alternatives. Continental breakfasts, sometimes served as a buffet, are offered between approximately 7:30 and 8:00 AM. You arrange lunch yourself. You can buy a lunch package directly at the hut (about 15€), which needs to be ordered the evening before. An alternative is to buy lunch in one of the villages along the way, for example Chamonix, Les Contamines, Courmayeur, La Fouly or Champex. Shower tokens are purchased at the huts.
