Welcome to an environment where one of Europe's most dramatic landscapes opens up before you! The Tarn gorge is one of France's most iconic natural areas, as mythical as the Riviera or the Alps, and will seduce you with its raw beauty.
On this hike you will experience spectacular places like Tarn and Jonte Gorges, Causse Méjan, Sauveterre and Causse Noir. The mighty limestone plateaus – known as "causses" – plunge down into narrow valleys where rivers cut gorges with walls of 400–500 meters. The golden ochre colors against the lush greenery create a landscape that takes the hiker's breath away.
In addition to breathtaking nature, you get to meet charming traditional villages and enjoy the mild Mediterranean climate. The entire Causse Méjan is crossed during the hike, and a canoe trip lets you discover the gorges from a completely new perspective. Here awaits an unforgettable hiking experience, filled with drama, beauty and adventure!

You make your way to Le Rozier on your own and check in at your hotel. Located at the gates of the Gorges Tarn and Jonte, at the confluence of the two rivers, the village bears its name from the rose bush harvests from the monks of Abbey of Aniane who built Saint-Sauveur church in 1705. Today only the church remains of the monastery. Opposite Le Rozier, on the other side of the Jonte river, lies the village of Peyreleau, which is located in Aveyron, the starting point for Causse Noir. The village is dominated by an old tower, the last remnant of the old fortified castle.
