Piedmont is Italy's paradise for food & wine lovers. The Langhe region lies between the Alps and the Apennines and is blessed with soil that produces the award-winning white truffle and some of Italy's most famous wines - Barolo and Barbaresco.
This hike takes you along the well-marked trail called Bar to Bar (Barolo to Barbaresco) and you get the opportunity to discover all the good things the region has to offer. In addition to truffles, also cheeses, pastries & chocolate as well as naturally food and wine.
The rolling hiking landscape is also very stylish with straight vineyards, picturesque villages and elegant castles, all with the Alps in the background.

Arrival in Alba, the medieval city with a hundred towers, and a treasure chest full of flavors and aromas in the heart of Piedmont's wine district. Take the opportunity to explore Alba and its local delicacies, such as chocolate, pastries and truffles.

The hikes are of easy to moderate character through rolling vineyards on well-marked trails, ridge paths and small gravel roads (strade bianche). The terrain is hilly with steady ups and downs. Day 3 and 4 may feel more challenging with longer stages and more elevation gain, otherwise a pleasant pace.
Accommodation
You stay at charming 3-star hotels in the cities and at comfortable farms (agriturismo) in smaller towns and in the countryside, some well-known for their cuisine. Genuine hospitality and atmospheric environments among the vineyards await. All rooms have toilet/shower/bath and breakfast is included.
