From Barolo you walk on the official Bar to Bar trail (Barolo to Barbaresco) which today takes you to the village of Novello before you reach the picturesque Monforte d'Alba. A great place to try some of Italy's best wines.

The first part of today's hike takes you to the typical small village of Serralunga d'Alba which offers a wonderful view over the rolling landscape, covered with vineyards where the vines stand in perfect rows. Continue to Roddino where you can stop for lunch with a view, before continuing to Cissone.

You follow gravel roads and trails down towards the Belbo river from where a climb takes you up to the opposite mountain ridge where on a clear day you have impressive views towards the Alps and the Apennines. Then you walk through woodland to Feisoglio before reaching Cravanzana. On the way you pass the charming little village of Seravalle Langhe. You can shorten today's hike by 6.5 km through a transfer to Bossaloschetto.

If you chose the longer hike yesterday, today you have a slightly easier hiking day to look forward to. From Cravanzana you walk gradually downhill towards the Belbo river and then make your way up the hill that leads to Montemarino. You can enjoy delightful views over the lower part of the Langhe region, the Alps to the northwest and the Apennines to the southwest.

From the small village of Benevello you walk again on the Bar to Bar trail which winds along rolling gravel roads and trails without any significant climbs. Comfortable and enjoyable. Large estates that produce world-class wine spread out. Here and there, the occasional woodland provides variation to the landscape. You have Langhe at your feet and the Alps in the background!

Today's hike takes place again on quiet country roads, gravel roads and trails without any significant climbs. The landscape is dominated by well-tended vineyards and continues to offer open views over the Langhe region and towards the Alps. On the way you pass Barbaresco, home to the famous wines. From here you walk downhill towards the Tanaro river and hike through a beautiful woodland before you are back in Alba where in the evening you can gather your impressions from the week over some good food & drink.
