Discover southwestern France's most beautiful small towns and finest gastronomy on this cycling trip in the area between Lot-et-Garonne and Dordogne. The journey begins in beautiful Agen, a friendly and lively town famous for its canal bridge which is the second longest in France.
Cycle through several walled towns such as Monpaziers and La Roque Gageac, several of them classified as some of France's most beautiful villages. Through lush valleys, along rivers and verdant forest areas in gently rolling terrain, you make your way over five cycling days to the gastronomic capital of Black Périgord truffles, Sarlat.
The local products truffle, foie gras, mushrooms and prunes are the backbone of the region's identity. In Sarlat you can finish with an additional cycling day and explore prehistory and its cave paintings in the Vezere valley.

Arrival at your hotel in Agen where roadbook, maps and bicycle await you. Beautiful Agen, also called the capital of prunes, is located between Bordeaux and Toulouse in southwestern France. The city has a 2000-year history with medieval alleys and elegant boulevards from the 19th century. Spend the afternoon discovering the city and its lively center with local markets where you can find everything from foie gras, vegetables, fruit and naturally - prunes!
Accommodation in Agen
The cycling is of easy to moderate character, with pleasant daily stages of about 45-50 km. Gentle hills and even climbs require normal basic fitness and endurance. The optional round trip from Sarlat can be experienced as more challenging for those who want to challenge themselves a little extra.
Accommodation in 3-star hotels, with one night in a 2-star hotel. Breakfast is included every morning and three dinners (days 2, 3 and 4). Welcoming and comfortable environments provide a relaxing end to the cycling days and enhance the overall experience.
