Is there anything that feels more like spring than endless tulip fields? For a few short weeks each year, the area between Amsterdam and the North Sea is transformed into a colorful patchwork of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils.
This easy cycling trip takes you through the Netherlands' most famous flower region, but also offers historic cities, winding canals, windmills and green agricultural landscapes. You cycle on fine cycle paths between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Leiden, pass the impressive steam-powered pumping station Cruquius and have plenty of time to visit the world-famous Keukenhof. The trip ends along the idyllic Amstel river back to Amsterdam – a perfect combination of nature, culture and spring feelings.

Welcome to the Netherlands' charming capital. Feel free to arrive early so you have time to discover the historic canal areas from the 1600s, which are on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Stroll along the picturesque canals, settle down at a café or explore the city's lively squares like Dam, Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein. If you want to experience Amsterdam from a different perspective, you can rent a pedal boat or take a boat trip through the canals. This is an easy cycling trip on the Netherlands' excellent network of paved cycle paths and smaller country roads. The stages are short to medium-length, averaging about 51 km per day, and the terrain is consistently flat with virtually no longer climbs. The trip suits most people who are used to cycling for a few hours at a leisurely pace and want to combine an active holiday with culture, floral splendor and cozy urban environments.
The trip includes overnight stays at comfortable three- and four-star hotels with private bathrooms. The hotels are centrally located or in scenic surroundings with good standards and breakfast buffet is included every morning. On some departures, accommodation outside Haarlem may be replaced by a manor hotel in Santpoort, which offers an even higher level of comfort. The trip corresponds to Comfort (3/5), with the possibility of upgrading for an additional fee on certain dates.
