You cycle between charming villages, nature reserves and vibrant cities like Antwerp and Breda, while discovering the history behind the monks' craftsmanship and the special Trappist tradition. The monasteries are still active and normally cannot be visited inside, but monastery shops, cafés and local restaurants offer plenty of opportunities to taste beer, cheese, chocolate and other delicacies. The journey mainly follows peaceful cycle paths and the old railway line Bels Lijntje, making this an enjoyable trip where culture, nature and good food go hand in hand.

Welcome to Turnhout in the Belgian region of Kempen. The city is known as the capital of playing cards since the world's first industrially printed deck of cards was manufactured here as early as 1826. If you have time before dinner, a visit to the Playing Card Museum, the historic castle that belonged to the Dukes of Brabant, or the beautiful St. Peter's Church is recommended. Here begins your cycling journey through Brabant and Flanders, where monasteries, beer traditions, and beautiful landscapes await.

A relatively easy cycling trip with daily stages averaging 59 km and moderate elevation differences. The route mainly follows paved cycle paths, minor country roads and car-free railway embankments through flat to gently rolling countryside. The trip suits most people with normal fitness who want to combine comfortable cycling with culture, food and history.
