Cycle through a Netherlands of dikes, canals, windmills, sea, and small harbour towns, and let your floating hotel follow along the way. From Enkhuizen, the journey goes through North Holland and Friesland, across the IJsselmeer and all the way out to the North Sea island of Texel. The cycling is easy and passes through an almost completely flat landscape with well-developed cycle paths. Every day something new awaits: historic Hoorn, Friesland's lake landscape, Harlingen's canals, sand dunes, and sea air on Texel. Between the cycling tours, MS Rigoletto cruises onward to the next harbour. So you unpack your bag once and still get a round trip filled with new surroundings.

The trip begins in Enkhuizen, a beautiful old harbour town on the IJsselmeer. Boarding the MS Rigoletto takes place from 4:00 PM, and once you've settled into your cabin there's time to start getting acquainted with the town. Take a first stroll along the harbour and through the historic town centre with its canals, old houses and clear traces from the time when Enkhuizen was an important trading town. Afterwards, the trip's first dinner awaits on board. Unpack properly – the beauty of combining boat and bike is that your cabin travels with you throughout the whole trip.
Level and standard
An easy cycling trip through the almost completely flat landscape of North Holland and Friesland. Six cycling days cover a total of approximately 176–249 km, averaging around 36 km per cycling day. The daily stages are 17–48 km, and on several days you can choose between shorter and longer alternatives. No elevation gain is stated in the program, but the terrain is described as essentially completely flat. Cycling mainly takes place on the Netherlands' well-developed cycle paths and suits those with basic fitness who want to cycle at a relaxed pace.
MS Rigoletto is a well-maintained and cozy river ship with a restaurant, lounge, bar, library, and partially covered sun deck. Standard twin cabins are approximately 11.5 m² and have a private bathroom, air conditioning, and a panoramic window. Cabins are located on the main and upper decks. The more spacious junior suite is approximately 22 m² with a double bed and seating area. Overall, we rate the standard cabins as Standard and the best cabin category as Comfort.
