From the Bavarian capital Munich, the Jakobsweg takes you to idyllic Allgäu, where breathtaking natural scenery and charming Swabian culture await between Lake Constance and the Lech. Among the highlights are King Ludwig's fairy-tale castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, views that are guaranteed to take your breath away.
At the time of the first pilgrims, the city of Munich was just a small settlement. Today the city is a modern metropolis, and the starting point of your pilgrimage. Your path takes you past the third largest lake in Bavaria, Ammersee, where a relaxing break or a boat trip in this bathing paradise gives you new energy. You will spend three of the hiking days in charming Pfaffenwinkel, from Dießen to Weilheim. Through the fascinating Ammer Gorge you reach Rottenbuch and the famous pilgrimage church at the monastery of the same name. Let yourself be enchanted by the magnificent views of the mountains and enjoy every step along this historic and scenic route.

The hikes are of easy to medium difficulty along well-marked trails through varied landscapes. The pace is comfortable, but some stages may feel longer and more hilly. Suitable for hikers with a good basic fitness level who appreciate clear paths and a steady rhythm.
Charming 3*** hotels or equivalent guesthouses, selected for a pleasant stay after the day's hike. A hearty breakfast is served every morning for a good start. If you would like a double room with separate beds, we can pass on the request to the hotel, but it cannot be guaranteed.
