This region in central Turkey has one of the world's most distinctive landscapes and an ancient history. The volcanoes Hasan and Erciyes shaped the landscape thousands of years ago, and the result is a strange world filled with slender fairy chimneys, green valleys and hollowed-out cave cities for both humans and pigeons. During a week of hiking, you discover both the strange rock formations and the rich history – from early Christian rock churches to cave dwellings. You pass vineyards and villages where hospitality is as natural as a glass of the local wine. If you want to see the landscape from above, there's the chance for a hot air balloon ride at sunrise – an unforgettable view over a truly magical landscape.

Fly to Kayseri or Nevşehir and included transfer to the hotel in Göreme, where you will spend the next five nights at a real cave hotel (Cappa Cave Hotel, Elysee Cave Hotel or similar).
This is a moderately strenuous trip with varied terrain – from soft paths in green valleys with sandy or soft tuff ground to open views over dramatic rock formations. The environment invites a comfortable pace with plenty of time for breaks, views and discoveries along the way. Daily hikes last 4-6 hours with at most 510 m ascent and 460 m descent.
The hotels are part of the experience in Cappadocia. We have selected genuine cave hotels with a high cozy factor, where no room is like another.
