This trip takes you to the foot of the Carpathians and through the hills of Transylvania, through a mysterious and spectacular land, known for the legend that inspired Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'. It is a land well known for its forests, which protect many species of wild plants and animals. Transylvania, surrounded by the impressive Carpathians, was also a much sought-after land, and the Saxons settled here in the 12th century as a shield against Tatars and Ottomans.
During the trip you will not only discover cultural treasures but also explore several small nature reserves where nature has barely been affected by chemicals. This makes it an ideal place for nature lovers who can enjoy the rich pastoral landscapes.
The trip includes cycling through picturesque villages, visits to impressive churches and fortifications, and the opportunity to explore fascinating places like Sighisoara, a medieval town that is still inhabited and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will also have the opportunity to experience the charming village of Viscri and its fortified church, which was restored with the help of King Charles' foundation.
The trip ends with a private transfer to Brasov, where you take the train back to Bucharest. If you have time, an extra night in the medieval town of Brasov is recommended. This is a trip that offers cultural richness and natural beauty and gives you a unique experience of Transylvania.
