From Lisbon's hills, you follow Portugal's scenic west coast southward by bicycle, all the way to the seafarers' Sagres and Europe's southwesternmost point. The journey takes you through two of the country's most atmospheric regions: the tranquil Alentejo with cork oaks, rice fields and fortified small towns, and the Algarve with its dramatic cliffs, open heaths and endless ocean views. You cycle along beaches and high cliffs, through nature parks and rural backwaters, mostly on bike paths and small, quiet roads. The finale awaits at Cabo São Vicente and Sagres, where the Atlantic takes over and Portugal's great maritime era began.

You arrive in Portugal's capital and have a short journey to your hotel in central Lisbon. In this European San Francisco (or vice versa) you'll encounter steep hills with trams, a red-painted bridge and just outside a surf mecca, but above all plenty of old world charm. Take a walk in the historic neighborhoods or simply enjoy the city's lights and views over the Tagus. Lisbon is a very beautiful city in a manageable format and invites both aimless strolling and visits to its many attractions.
This is a medium-level cycling trip, with daily stages of approximately 40–65 km. The surface varies between bike paths, small paved country roads and shorter gravel sections. The terrain is mostly easy to rolling, with some longer but gradual climbs. Suitable for you who are used to cycling several days in a row and want to combine physical activity with great nature experiences.
You can choose between Comfort with predominantly 3-star hotels and Charm with predominantly 4-star hotels and extra atmosphere and historic environments. All are selected for their location and local character. The accommodations are strategically placed along the route, often near the sea or in small, authentic towns.
