Cycle along magical Douro

Starting and ending in Porto, one of Europe's most beautiful cities, you'll experience the magical Douro Valley during a week of easy cycling. The trip is bookable year-round thanks to the proximity to the sea's cooling temperatures. Douro and its many tributaries have created a hydrographic basin with spectacular landscapes where nature and culture beautifully intertwine, always with the majestic Douro River following you. Old railway lines have been converted into cycling paths 'cyclovia', offering comfortable tours through villages, forests, pastures and vineyards.

From the highlands you make your way down gradually towards the Douro. You cycle past Vila Real where you'll have the opportunity to visit Mateus Palace, a masterpiece of Portuguese baroque architecture. During the cycling tours from Peso da Régua you'll discover a unique landscape, and you finish by cycling along the river mouth and sea where the port wines that came from the valley matured in Porto before being exported to the four corners of the world.
