Hohe Tauern is the Alps' largest national park – a vast landscape of snow-covered peaks over 3,000 meters above sea level, roaring waterfalls and valleys shaped by eternal ice. Here you hike through larch and pine forests, high alpine meadows and valleys where marmots, eagles and chamois are at home. The views stretch towards the mountain massifs of Salzburg and Tyrol, and the small mountain huts offer welcome breaks in the midst of the magnificent scenery. With the help of gondolas and taxis you reach high starting points before continuing on foot over mountain ridges and up towards the glaciers' edge. A week of authentic alpine hiking to the tinkling of cowbells.

Welcome to Oberpinzgau. The fresh mountain air in Krimml, at over 1,000 meters altitude, immediately sets the mood for the week's adventure.
The hiking is high alpine with clearly marked trails, mixed with gravel roads, meadows and more rocky terrain. The daily stages are quite long, often 13–18 km, and some days have clear ascents and steep descents. Good fitness and some experience of mountain hiking is recommended. Alternatives are available on certain days for those who want to take a more relaxed variant.
The trip uses three- and four-star hotels and guesthouses in classic alpine style. You stay in small villages close to the hiking trails and get a mix of traditional family hotels, more modern mountain accommodations and genuine gasthofs. All have good breakfast and a warm, personal service – it warms you after a day on the mountain trails.
