Join an adventure through northern Greece's mighty mountains Olympos and Pieria – places filled with myths, history and magnificent views. The journey starts in the charming village of Litochoro at the foot of Olympos, home of the gods according to ancient mythology. From here you hike along green slopes to the mountain hut Koromilia and further towards Ano Milis where the next stage begins.
You climb Mt Pieria and overnight in a traditional mountain hut, before the hike continues via the summit Flambouro into the Kozani region. With jeep transfer you reach Katafygi and finally Velvendos, a genuine village by Lake Polifytou. Here the journey concludes with a final evening at the hotel, good Greek food and the village's warm atmosphere – a perfect ending.

Arrival to the picturesque town of Litochoro from where most people start their hikes towards the mountain peaks. Check-in at your hotel and opportunity to stroll around the town.
Accommodation in Litochoro
Level and standard
Challenging hikes in mountain terrain where you carry your luggage from day 2 to day 5. The paths go steeply up towards the huts and down again, with daily large elevation differences. The summit day via Skala and Skolio can be experienced as extra demanding for legs and lungs.
Accommodation 3 nights in double room or triple room plus 4 nights in dormitory rooms at mountain huts:
- On Mount Olympus there are 9 staffed mountain huts in operation during the summer season plus 6 emergency shelters.
- The huts have dormitories with bunk beds, mattress, blanket and pillow. You need to bring your own sheets or sleeping bag, pillowcase, headlamp/flashlight and towel. Electricity is available via generator and the lights are usually turned off around 10:00 PM.
- There are shared facilities such as toilets, washbasins and sometimes even (cold) showers. It is not allowed to enter with hiking boots in the huts - special areas are available for leaving shoes. In some cases flip-flops are available to borrow, but we recommend bringing your own.
- Breakfast is included every morning. The huts serve dinner for about 18€ and offer lunch packages for about 11€.
