During the hike you'll encounter spectacular landscapes – blooming gorges, high cliffs, turquoise lagoons and picturesque coastal villages. You'll get the chance to experience Crete's charming local population, taste traditional food at small tavernas and enjoy the genuine life on the island. This trip combines adventure, nature and culture in a way that makes every step feel like a discovery.

Arrival to Paleochora by taxi (taxi transfer can be booked in advance) or by bus from Chania or Heraklion airport. From Chania it takes about 1.5 hours by taxi. If you have time we recommend strolling through the beautiful coastal town of Paleochora, with its 1800 inhabitants it is one of the largest towns along the southwest coast. There is a fortress and there are several sandy or pebble beaches to explore.
Accommodation in Paleochora
Level and standard
Moderate to challenging hikes with daily stages of 4-8 hours. Expect hilly terrain that requires endurance and steady steps. Day 4 and 6 offer large elevation differences, but both have shorter alternatives with less ascent for those who want to adjust the effort.
Accommodation
Small family-run hotels and guesthouses with cozy atmosphere and simple, comfortable standard. All rooms have private shower and toilet, and a good breakfast is served every morning so you can start the day full, rested and ready for the day's hike.
