Imagine hiking through a lush landscape filled with vineyards, olive groves, rivers and forests. Here lie small villages and medieval towns on the hills – as if taken from a fairy tale. On this trip you get to experience just that. Every step opens up new views, new scents and new encounters with Istria's nature, culture and history.
You visit Hum – the world's smallest town – and feel the wings of history in Motovun and the artist village Grožnjan. You hike through Učka National Park with its rich wildlife and flora and round off the adventure with local delicacies and Istria's famous wines.

Welcome to Istria! In the evening, you'll meet our local representative in the hotel reception for a brief overview. Here you'll receive all practical information – maps, roadbook, luggage tags and hotel vouchers. Then it's time to enjoy your first evening in the Buje area.
Level & standard
The hikes are longer and some days may feel more challenging than others. However, you can choose shorter alternatives on several days. There are shorter sections with tougher ascents or steeper descents. The trip suits most people who hike regularly and have normal fitness. Daily distances range between 12.5–25 km.
Accommodation
The accommodations on the trip are small-scale and charming – everything from family-owned guesthouses among the vineyards to boutique hotels in historic city centers. In Motovun you stay in the middle of a medieval town, in Buzet at a stylish hotel with Spa and in Lovran right by the Adriatic Sea. Many of the hotels have restaurants serving local dishes and several offer pools or wellness facilities. What they all share is the personal atmosphere and genuine Istrian hospitality.
