When you cross Gran Canaria's northern coast, the terrain opens up near Galdar. Here you find the Agaete valley, a real oasis with banana and pineapple plantations. Small white villages filled with exotic palms and colorful bougainvillea. It is from here that you begin to explore the unknown mountainous terrain. Deep ravines bend down towards the Atlantic, and as so often, the northern part of the Canary Islands is green and lush!
High plateaus with flower meadows, laurel trees and pine trees coexist with terraced cultivations filled with almond trees, avocado and prickly pear cactus. In the middle of the island stand the two peaks Roque Nublo and Bentayga high above the deep ravines. Before the Spaniards came to the island, the Berber people Guanches named these two peaks.

Discover the lush Agaete Valley, surrounded by palm trees and colorful bougainvillea.
Enjoy wonderful views from Mirador de la Paloma over Gran Canaria's dramatic landscape.
Hike through the spectacular terrain at Roque Nublo, an iconic rock formation with historical significance.
Explore the charming villages around Tejeda, known for their local delicacies and picturesque streets.
End your journey with a circular hike north of La Cumbre, where you can enjoy magnificent views over deep ravines.

Arrival and taxi transfer to the first hotel in Agaete, on the island's rocky northwest coast. The hotel, which has a pool, is located on the outskirts of the town, surrounded by banana and orange plantations.
Accommodation in Agaete
Hikes of moderate character in mountainous terrain with noticeable elevation differences. Good basic fitness and experience with uphill and downhill walking helps. Some stages feel more demanding, especially around Roque Nublo, and there is the possibility to shorten the hike on day 3.
Accommodation in small family-run hotels and guesthouses with personal atmosphere. Shower and toilet are available in the room for a comfortable rest after the day's hike. Breakfast is included every morning, and three evenings include dinner.

Hiking in the Heart of Gran CanariaWe were a grandmother and a grandchild who hiked. The 14-year-old has hiked with me before in completely different nature and appreciated the trip tremendously. I was satisfied that everything worked so well, the app was superb! The transports arrived on time. Hotel 1 had poor food (we had bought dinner), hotel 2 gave us an apartment at the bottom of Tejeda - the hill up was enormous, the hot water was lukewarm, it was warm downstairs but cold upstairs. But the view was fantastic! I will definitely travel with you again and recommend you to everyone! Being able to walk at your own pace, being able to take a detour to something you want to see, stop when you want and just enjoy, walk faster when you want - COMPLETELY PERFECT!!
