On the southwestern slope of Sierra Nevada lies a larger mountain area, Alpujarras. Where you are still reminded of the influences from the area's Moorish period. Here at the foot of Sierra Nevada, olives, lemons, almonds, figs and grapes also grow and thrive against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
This hiking trip offers moderate hikes in high terrain and you visit charming whitewashed villages, "Pueblos Blancos" built on steep slopes.
Several days you have different hikes to choose from, and the hiking length can vary between approximately 5-7 hours.
You will stay at small & cozy family-run hotels, and during these days breakfast and dinner are included for 3 days (half board).

Arrival in Capileira, located at an altitude of 1436m. This beautiful Alpujarras village still shows its charming history as a former Moorish settlement: whitewashed houses clinging to the slope, small squares with fountains and a mysterious network of steep, narrow alleys.
Accommodation in Capileira
Level and standard
Moderate hiking along well-marked trails through dramatic valleys and white villages, with daily stages of approximately 4-7 hours. Some days offer longer climbs and more undulating terrain, and from Mecina and Trevélez there are optional alternatives for different energy levels.
Accommodation
Small, family-run hotels in typical 'pueblos blancos' with warm atmosphere and personal service. All rooms have private shower and toilet for comfortable recovery after the day's hike. Breakfast is included every morning, and dinner is served three evenings during the trip.
