Hiking in Sardinia - Supramonte

A completely unexploited Mediterranean coast without either houses or roads is something unique in our times. That's exactly what you get to experience on Sardinia's wild eastern side. Here, Supramonte's inaccessible nature has helped preserve nature's state, with the exception of some brave shepherds who graze their animals on the high plateaus.

800 meter high white cliffs rise from an impossibly turquoise sea and the hiker is surrounded by a fragrant and verdant macchia where only crickets and the wind are heard. In the Gorropu gorge there is a world of its own. But surely there is culture and a mysterious, ancient history too, like the Nuraghi towers on Monte Tiscali, and down in the small welcoming coastal villages where a swim and a glass of Cannonau wine sit perfectly after the exertion.
