The beautiful Lake Como and Lake Lugano in northern Italy have been a popular holiday destination since Roman times and here you'll find plenty of beautiful villas and gardens to explore along the shores. In addition to beautiful lakes, villas and gardens, you'll also find a large number of hiking trails.
Experience fantastic mountain peaks, forested valleys and traditional villages where each village has its own unique character. The old trails that cross the mountains west of Lake Como and east of Lake Lugano have been transformed into well-marked hiking paths with wonderful views over the landscape.

Arrival and check-in at the hotel in Menaggio. Spend the day exploring the town and enjoy the view of the fantastic mountains over the lake. During the trip, it is recommended to take your time to explore all the small towns and viewpoints from both sides of the lake. Don't miss the beautiful gardens Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo and Villa Melzi in Bellagio.
Accommodation in Menaggio
Level and standard
The hikes are of medium to lightly challenging character, with varied terrain. You follow nature reserves and historic trails, and reach peaks on certain days with longer ascents and descents. Good basic fitness and confidence in steeper sections is recommended.
Accommodation
Five nights in Menaggio and two nights in Porlezza at 3-star hotels. Choose between Comfort with city view or Comfort with lake view. Breakfast is included all days. Comfortable, well-maintained accommodations provide a relaxing base between hikes, with personal atmosphere and facilities. Each morning you start the day with a good breakfast that provides energy for the day's experiences.
