This hiking trip takes you all the way around Italy's largest lake – from alpine Trentino in the north, over Lombardy's elegant Riviera and further into Veneto's gentle landscape. You move between dramatic cliffs, lush forests, winding trail systems and sunny waterfront promenades. All the time you have Lake Garda's glittering waters by your side and the Dolomites' silhouettes in the distance. It's a journey that captures the entire region's diversity: lemon groves, mountain villages, small harbors, wild views and a climate that feels more Mediterranean than Alpine.

Arrival at the elegant northern tip of Lake Garda. Stroll along the lakeside promenade and take in the feeling of the Alps and Mediterranean meeting. Riva's old town center is perfect for a first evening.
Level & standard
The hikes are moderately difficult and go through varied terrain: panoramic trails high above the lake, forest paths, stone-paved historic trails and waterfront promenades where you can stretch your legs. The days are 4–5 hours with moderate elevation differences and some more challenging climbs. Good fitness and some hiking experience is recommended, but tougher sections can often be bypassed by bus.
Choose between 3-star Comfort standard or 4-star Charm hotels. They are often located near the waterfront promenade or in the historic districts. The hotels offer comfortable rooms, good breakfasts and a pleasant atmosphere – perfect starting points for discovering the towns in the evening. Several of them have pools, terraces or lake views.
