GT20 is to cycling what GR20 is to hiking – a legendary and magnificent route from north to south that is considered a must for passionate cyclists. Here we offer the northern part, between Bastia and Île-Rousse, perhaps the most beautiful stage that follows the coast and offers an outstanding variety of landscapes and culture.
In just a few days you pass the small harbors of Cap Corse, the classic vineyards of Patrimonio, the Saint-Florent bay, the Agriate desert as well as Balagne's beaches and picturesque villages. You step right into Mediterranean history, Mare Nostrum, where thousands of merchant ships once crossed the sea along these coasts.
This part of GT20 is characterized by accessible but rolling stages, with many smaller gradients. The cycling takes place mainly on smaller, quiet roads. Each evening you reach lively coastal communities and small towns with distinct Mediterranean character, perfect for recovery and enjoyment after the day's stage.
Determine the level: The cycling is quite demanding but with an e-bike it becomes suitable for most people.

You arrive in Bastia and check into your hotel. Via our app, you can take an approximately two-hour discovery tour of the historic city center, with the harbor, citadel, and Italian-influenced neighborhoods. A nice start to the cycling trip.
Level & standard
The cycling is varied with rolling coastal roads, longer but even climbs and rewarding descents. You set the pace yourself, and the route is well suited for those who want to combine some physical challenge with nature and cultural experiences. The length and elevation of each stage are indicated in the daily program, and you can always book an e-bike to make the tours a bit easier.
You stay at carefully selected three-star hotels with good comfort, personal atmosphere and excellent locations. Our accommodations are centrally located in coastal communities or near the sea, with breakfast included and restaurants, harbors and nightlife within comfortable reach.
