Cycle along the most famous part of the majestic Danube River, from Passau in Germany to Vienna in Austria. This flat and easily accessible cycling trip starts in the charming Austrian border town of Schärding am Inn and follows almost exclusively traffic-free cycle paths.
During the journey you pass verdant forested valleys and blooming meadows, which tell stories of the riches and cultures that the river has carried through the centuries. The slowly flowing Danube offers a peaceful and enriching cycling holiday, where you will discover the wine region of Wachau, the medieval towns of Krems and Wilhering, before reaching Austria's magnificent capital Vienna.

Arrival in Schärding and check-in at your hotel. You can reach Schärding by train or bus from Vienna. Try the Austrian cuisine at one of the many restaurants in the city. You can also choose to spend the first night in Passau, please let us know at the time of booking.

The cycling is of easy character in flat terrain, perfect for relaxed days along the Danube. The cycling takes place 95% on paved cycle paths without traffic. Several stages offer a choice between shorter and longer distances, so you can adapt the day according to feeling and pace.
