GT20 is to cycling what GR20 is to hiking: an iconic long-distance route through one of the Mediterranean's most dramatic landscapes. This western section takes you from Bastia to Ajaccio, following the coast the whole way via Cap Corse, Saint-Florent, Balagne, Calvi, Scandola and the red cliffs of Piana. You cycle between fishing villages, small harbours and classic seaside resorts, with the sea as your constant companion. It's a challenging and unforgettable week for those who love road cycling, panoramic views and the feeling of truly making your own way forward. Every evening a new Mediterranean town awaits – and your bags are already there waiting.
Choose your level: The cycling is quite demanding, but with an e-bike it becomes manageable for almost everyone.

Arrival in Bastia where you settle into your hotel. If time permits, we recommend a stroll through the city's baroque quarters, narrow alleys and lively squares. Bastia is a genuine art and culture city with local delicacies, pleasant terraces and good restaurants.
Level and standard
Corsica's beautifully hilly landscape offers genuine cycling, which can however be made easier if you choose an e-bike. Daily stages of 45–65 km with up to 700-1000 metres of elevation gain. You cycle mostly on paved minor roads, sometimes with uneven surfaces and some sections with traffic. Several longer climbs and technical descents require good fitness and experience of road cycling.
You stay at smaller hotels, mainly three-star with breakfast. One night is at a two-star hotel with a pool in Île-Rousse, and in Galéria half board is included. The hotels are centrally located in coastal towns and villages, often close to harbour, beach and restaurants. A comfortable base after each day of cycling.
