With the Baltic Sea by your side, you pedal through a series of beautiful Hanseatic towns in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's lovely coastal landscape. The route passes long sandy beaches, seaside resorts, fishing villages and lagoons. Bring your swimwear, as the sea is never far away. Along the way, Wismar's brick Gothic architecture, the steam train Molli, the artists' village of Ahrenshoop and the wild beach Weststrand on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula await. The trip ends among spires and magnificent merchant houses in Stralsund. An easygoing bike trip where the sea, nature and Baltic Sea history play the leading roles.

Arrival in Lübeck, where the cycling trip along the Baltic Sea coast begins. The magnificent old Hanseatic town was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as early as 1987 and offers plenty of history even before you get on the bike. Holstentor, Thomas Mann, and marzipan are three names closely associated with the town. Take a stroll through the old quarters and start the holiday in true North German style with a Fischbrötchen – a simple fish sandwich that tastes best close to the sea.
Level and accommodation
Relatively easy cycling with daily stages of about 45 km per day and moderate gradients. The route follows the beautiful Baltic Sea Trail through seaside resorts, nature reserves and coastal landscapes. The trip suits you with normal fitness and some cycling experience.
Choose between Standard and Comfort. Standard means inns and hotels mainly at 3-star level. Comfort provides consistently slightly nicer accommodations at 3- and 4-star level, sometimes with resort character and better facilities. Breakfast is included every morning.
