Hiking in Montenegro's National Parks

In scenic Montenegro, hikes await that take you through beautiful national parks, along mountain ridges with fantastic views and where forests and meadows meet high mountain peaks. The hikes take you through forest, up and down mountains, past small towns to finally reach the magically beautiful Bay of Kotor on the Adriatic Sea coast.

During the hike you will pass glacial lakes, the world's second deepest canyon – Tara Canyon – and other magnificent nature in the national parks. You will also experience more than hiking; one stage goes by train, on a stretch beloved by train enthusiasts. Between Kolasin and Podgorica the train travels high over canyons and a nearly 200 meter high bridge.

In the old capital Cetinje you will learn more about Montenegro's history and in the Bay of Kotor sunset and salt spray await. You stay in fine hotels with breakfast and you also get the chance to experience local life when you stay in a cottage with a family in Biogradska Gora. They also invite you to a traditional dinner.
