France vs Italy
Which of our travelers' two favorite countries do you choose?

Should you travel to France or Italy?
It sounds like an epic football match but is an epic battle for travelers' favor. The neighboring countries are constantly at the top when our guests choose destinations. Which country will win you over next time?
...wonder Axel (raised in France) and Dahn (living in Italy)
The best food country is...
...both, we think somewhat evasively. But these are sensitive matters that go straight to the heart of national souls. Do we dare claim that French cuisine reaches greater heights, while Italian food culture goes deeper? If in France you can encounter both questionable fast food and taste sensations that give something dreamy to the gaze, Italy's strength is the high minimum standard and a culture where the smallest child knows what good food is. The Frenchman is skilled at composing, the Italian lets each ingredient sing out undisturbed. Regardless, neither is much like what is served as French or Italian in Sweden. Travel to taste!

The nicest locals are...
...both in their own way. Italians are often perceived as approachable, while their transalpine cousins can appear somewhat stern. But you should take that as something respectful in a culture where no one grovels to anyone else. Égalité! We who have spent much time in both countries usually say that the Frenchman always starts with a no and the Italian always with a yes - with the same end result. We're joking of course and both peoples are so much more than their stereotypes.

Most beautiful is...
...no now we stop trying to declare a winner because it's impossible. What's certain is that both Italy and France offer some of Europe's most seductive landscapes.
Beautiful coastlines, majestic mountains, rolling wine hills, winding rivers, whispering forests, sleepy villages and energetic cities - they both have it all.

Don't you agree?
Good, then you already have a bit of Latin soul in you! The best discussions are those that provoke a little and never find a solution. Both French and Italians know this, who gladly remain in disagreement to enjoy an invigorating and often animated battle. After a bit of shadow boxing, they part as friends - each with their own conviction. In France and Italy, you're allowed to think exactly as you want. Perhaps that's what attracts us compliant Swedes most of all.
