We're turning 20 and want to celebrate with you
Soon another year comes to an end, our twentieth. Even the slow journey goes fast sometimes. Many hikers and cyclists have crossed the bridges since 2006.
It's exciting to think about all of you who are out cycling and hiking with us while we ourselves sit in the office. Epic Trails' world is big and it's always bubbling somewhere. That's why we thought it could be fun with a little photo contest to capture some fragments of the mosaic of experiences we and you create together, every day somewhere out there.

How to participate
- Sort out your best photos from trips you've made with Epic Trails/TRAVL. As many as you want.
- Email them to info@epictrails.eu with subject Photo Contest 2026, no later than Epiphany (January 6th).
- Put the champagne on ice. The winners will be presented on St. Knut's Day (January 13th).
Pro tip: tell us a bit about the photos. We judges are very easily influenced by good stories...

Turn around
The best view might be behind you, and it's always more fun to photograph happy faces than backs and bottoms.
Find the depth
A good foreground (person, bicycle handlebars, tree) makes the background look bigger and less flat.
Light is everything
Natural colors usually win over filters, and take advantage when the soft morning and evening light gives shape to the subject.
Capture the movement
Capture someone mid-step, it gives more energy than the posed picture.
Don't forget the people
The most beautiful view easily becomes flat in a photo. Put a person in front for that want-to-be-there feeling.
Details speak
The map with the coffee cup can convey just as much sense of adventure as a grand view.
