Today's hike is a bit shorter and begins by taking you over Pieve a Elsa to the ancient Etruscan thermal baths at Caldane. Here you can bathe in water from a natural hot spring. You then continue to Strove with its beautiful Romanesque church. In the distance you can see the characteristic walls surrounding the medieval small town of Monteriggioni where today's stage ends. Your accommodation is located about 1.6 km outside central Monteriggioni.

Leave Monteriggioni behind for a final hiking day on this stretch of Via Francigena. You walk on gravel roads through Montagnola Senese which is a hilly landscape partly through woodland. You reach Chiocciola castle and then walk up to Poggio di Riciano or directly to Pina del Lago. At the end of the Renaissance forest you arrive at the beautiful city of Siena and meet the city via the ancient pilgrim gate Porta Camollia.
