Porto Santo - The Golden Island

The last day of the hiking trip on Madeira becomes the first day on Porto Santo. The day begins with a private morning transfer from your hotel in Funchal to the harbor, where the ferry makes the crossing in 2.5 hours. During the journey you can enjoy the wonderful view over Funchal's bay and the terraced city that rises above the sea. Upon arrival at Porto Santo, a taxi awaits to take you to your accommodation in the small town of Vila Baleira, only 200 meters from the beach. Check-in for 2 nights.

Yes, you certainly feel a bit like you're on a treasure island here: only 11 km long and visited and praised already by Christopher Columbus. A leisurely breakfast, a few hours on the beach with a swim in the Atlantic's fresh water and perhaps a little hike if the mood strikes? The day is yours to do whatever you want with.

Today too you have almost the entire day to wind down and enjoy the surroundings. Only in the late afternoon does the taxi pick you up for the return journey to Madeira. In the evening you will be dropped off at the door of your last hotel, in Funchal.
